Firmware trace is exposed at /sys/debug/dri/<dev_nr>/pvr_fw/trace_0.
Trace is enabled via the group mask at
/sys/debug/dri/<dev_nr>/pvr_params/fw_trace_mask.

drm/imagination: Implement job submission and scheduling
Implement job submission ioctl. Job scheduling is implemented using
drm_sched.
Jobs are submitted in a stream format. This is intended to allow the UAPI
data format to be independent of the actual FWIF structures in use, which
vary depending on the GPU in use.

Implement ioctls to create and destroy free lists and HWRT datasets. Free
lists are used for GPU-side memory allocation during geometry processing.
HWRT datasets are the FW-side structures representing render targets.

drm/imagination: Implement MIPS firmware processor and MMU support
Add support for the MIPS firmware processor, used in the Series AXE GPU.
The MIPS firmware processor uses a separate MMU to the rest of the GPU, so
this patch adds support for that as well.

drm/imagination: Implement firmware infrastructure and META FW support
The infrastructure includes parsing of the firmware image, initialising
FW-side structures, handling the kernel and firmware command
ringbuffers and starting & stopping the firmware processor.
This patch also adds the necessary support code for the META firmware
processor.

Add power management to the driver, using runtime pm. The power off
sequence depends on firmware commands which are not implemented in this
patch.

Add a GEM implementation based on drm_gem_shmem, and support code for the
PowerVR GPU MMU. The GPU VA manager is used for address space management.

drm/imagination: Add GPU ID parsing and firmware loading
Read the GPU ID register at probe time and select the correct
features/quirks/enhancements. Use the GPU ID to form the firmware
file name and load the firmware.
The features/quirks/enhancements arrays are currently hardcoded in
the driver for the supported GPUs. We are looking at moving this
information to the firmware image.

drm/gpuvm: Helper to get range of unmap from a remap op.
Determining the start and range of the unmap stage of a remap op is a
common piece of code currently implemented by multiple drivers. Add a
helper for this.

fbdev/simplefb: Suppress error on missing power domains
When the power domains are missing, the call to of_count_phandle_with_args
fails with -ENOENT. The power domains are not required and there are
some device trees that do not specify them. Suppress this error to fix
devices without power domains attached to simplefb.

drm/edid/firmware: drop drm_kms_helper.edid_firmware backward compat
Since the edid_firmware module parameter was moved from
drm_kms_helper.ko to drm.ko in v4.15, we've had a backwards
compatibility helper in place, with a DRM_NOTE() suggesting to migrate
to drm.edid_firmware. This was added in commit
ac6c35a4d8c7 ("drm: add
backwards compatibility support for drm_kms_helper.edid_firmware").
More than five years and 30+ kernel releases later, drop the backward
compatibility.

drm/tilcdc: Fix irq free on unload
The driver only frees the reserved irq if priv->irq_enabled is set to
true. However, the driver mistakenly sets priv->irq_enabled to false,
instead of true, in tilcdc_irq_install(), and thus the driver never
frees the irq, causing issues on loading the driver a second time.

drm/bridge: tpd12s015: Drop buggy __exit annotation for remove function
With tpd12s015_remove() marked with __exit this function is discarded
when the driver is compiled as a built-in. The result is that when the
driver unbinds there is no cleanup done which results in resource
leakage or worse.

drm/nouveau/fence:: fix warning directly dereferencing a rcu pointer
Fix a sparse warning with this message
"warning:dereference of noderef expression". In this context it means we
are dereferencing a __rcu tagged pointer directly.
We should not be directly dereferencing a rcu pointer. To get a normal
(non __rcu tagged pointer) from a __rcu tagged pointer we are using the
function unrcu_pointer(...). The non __rcu tagged pointer then can be
dereferenced just like a normal pointer.

The rk3066_hdmi encoder still uses the non atomic variants
of enable and disable. Convert to their atomic equivalents.
In atomic mode there is no need to save the adjusted mode,

dma-buf: Replace strlcpy() with strscpy()
strlcpy() reads the entire source buffer first. This read may exceed
the destination size limit. This is both inefficient and can lead
to linear read overflows if a source string is not NUL-terminated[1].
Additionally, it returns the size of the source string, not the
resulting size of the destination string. In an effort to remove strlcpy()
completely[2], replace strlcpy() here with strscpy().

drm/panel-elida-kd35t133: hold panel in reset for unprepare
For devices like the Anbernic RG351M and RG351P the panel is wired to
an always on regulator. When the device suspends and wakes up, there
are some slight artifacts on the screen that go away over time. If
instead we hold the panel in reset status after it is unprepared,
this does not happen.

drm/panel: nv3051d: Add Powkiddy RK2023 Panel Support
Refactor the driver to add support for the powkiddy,rk2023-panel
panel. This panel is extremely similar to the rg353p-panel but
requires a smaller vertical back porch and isn't as tolerant of
higher speeds. Note that while all of these panels are identical in
size (70x57) it is possible future panels may not be.
Tested on my RG351V, RG353P, RG353V, and RK2023.

dt-bindings: display: nv3051d: Update NewVision NV3051D compatibles
Update the NewVision NV3051D compatible strings by adding a new panel,
the powkiddy,rk2023-panel, and removing another entry, the
anbernic,rg353v-panel.
The rk2023-panel is similar to the rg353p-panel but has slightly
different timings so it needs a new string.
The rg353v-panel is duplicate to the rg353p-panel, so remove it. No
current devices use it and changes to the driver mean it is no longer
valid as a compatible string.

drm/print: Handle NULL drm device in __drm_printk()
drm_{err,warn,...}() use __drm_printk() which takes a drm device pointer and
uses the embedded device pointer to print the device. This facility handles
NULL device pointer, but not NULL drm device pointer. This patch makes
__drm_printk() also handle a NULL drm device pointer. The printed output is
identical to if drm->dev had been NULL.

accel/qaic: Update MAX_ORDER use to be inclusive
MAX_ORDER was redefined so that valid allocations to the page allocator
are in the range of 0..MAX_ORDER, inclusive in the commit
23baf831a32c ("mm, treewide: redefine MAX_ORDER sanely").
We are treating MAX_ORDER as an exclusive value, and thus could be
requesting larger allocations. Update our use to match the redefinition
of MAX_ORDER.

drm/client: Do not acquire module reference
Do not acquire a reference on the module that provides a client's
callback functions in drm_client_init(). The additional reference
prevents the user from unloading the callback functions' module and
thus creating dangling pointers.
This is only necessary if there is no direct dependency between the
caller of drm_client_init() and the provider of the callbacks in
struct drm_client_funcs. If this case ever existed, it has been
removed from the DRM code. Callers of drm_client_init() also provide
the callback implementation. The lifetime of the clients is tied to
the dependency chain's outer-most module, which is the hardware's
DRM driver. Before client helpers could be unloaded, the driver module
would have to be unloaded, which also unregisters all clients.
Driver modules that set up DRM clients can now be unloaded.

drm/format-helper: Pass format-conversion state to helpers
Pass an instance of struct drm_format_conv_state to DRM's format
conversion helpers. Update all callers.
Most drivers can use the format-conversion state from their shadow-
plane state. The shadow plane's destroy function releases the
allocated buffer. Drivers will later be able to allocate a buffer
of appropriate size in their plane's atomic_check code.
The gud driver uses a separate thread for committing updates. For
now, the update worker contains its own format-conversion state.
Images in the format-helper tests are small. The tests preallocate
a static page for the temporary buffer. Unloading the module releases
the memory.

drm/atomic-helper: Add format-conversion state to shadow-plane state
Store an instance of struct drm_format_conv_state in the shadow-plane
state struct drm_shadow_plane_state. Many drivers with shadow planes
use DRM's format helpers to copy or convert the framebuffer data to
backing storage in the scanout buffer. The shadow plane provides the
necessary state and manages the conversion's intermediate buffer memory.

drm/format-helper: Cache buffers with struct drm_format_conv_state
Hold temporary memory for format conversion in an instance of struct
drm_format_conv_state. Update internal helpers of DRM's format-conversion
code accordingly. Drivers will later be able to maintain this cache by
themselves.
Besides caching, struct drm_format_conv_state will be useful to hold
additional information for format conversion, such as palette data or
foreground/background colors. This will enable conversion from indexed
color formats to component-based formats.

Revert "drm/sched: Define pr_fmt() for DRM using pr_*()"

The drm_print.[ch] facilities use very few pr_*() calls directly. The
users of pr_*() calls do not necessarily include <drm/drm_print.h> at
all, and really don't have to.
Even the ones that do include it, usually have <linux/...> includes
first, and <drm/...> includes next. Notably, <linux/kernel.h> includes
<linux/printk.h>.
And, of course, <linux/printk.h> defines pr_fmt() itself if not already
defined.
No, it's encouraged not to use pr_*() at all, and prefer drm device
based logging, or device based logging.

drm/gpuvm: track/lock/validate external/evicted objects
Currently the DRM GPUVM offers common infrastructure to track GPU VA
allocations and mappings, generically connect GPU VA mappings to their
backing buffers and perform more complex mapping operations on the GPU VA
space.
However, there are more design patterns commonly used by drivers, which
can potentially be generalized in order to make the DRM GPUVM represent
a basis for GPU-VM implementations. In this context, this patch aims
at generalizing the following elements.
1) Provide a common dma-resv for GEM objects not being used outside of
this GPU-VM.
2) Provide tracking of external GEM objects (GEM objects which are
shared with other GPU-VMs).
3) Provide functions to efficiently lock all GEM objects dma-resv the
GPU-VM contains mappings of.
4) Provide tracking of evicted GEM objects the GPU-VM contains mappings
of, such that validation of evicted GEM objects is accelerated.
5) Provide some convinience functions for common patterns.
Big thanks to Boris Brezillon for his help to figure out locking for
drivers updating the GPU VA space within the fence signalling path.

drm/gpuvm: add an abstraction for a VM / BO combination
Add an abstraction layer between the drm_gpuva mappings of a particular
drm_gem_object and this GEM object itself. The abstraction represents a
combination of a drm_gem_object and drm_gpuvm. The drm_gem_object holds
a list of drm_gpuvm_bo structures (the structure representing this
abstraction), while each drm_gpuvm_bo contains list of mappings of this
GEM object.
This has multiple advantages:
1) We can use the drm_gpuvm_bo structure to attach it to various lists
of the drm_gpuvm. This is useful for tracking external and evicted
objects per VM, which is introduced in subsequent patches.
2) Finding mappings of a certain drm_gem_object mapped in a certain
drm_gpuvm becomes much cheaper.
3) Drivers can derive and extend the structure to easily represent
driver specific states of a BO for a certain GPUVM.
The idea of this abstraction was taken from amdgpu, hence the credit for
this idea goes to the developers of amdgpu.

drm/nouveau: separately allocate struct nouveau_uvmm
Allocate struct nouveau_uvmm separately in preparation for subsequent

drm/nouveau: make use of the GPUVM's shared dma-resv
DRM GEM objects private to a single GPUVM can use a shared dma-resv.
Make use of the shared dma-resv of GPUVM rather than a driver specific
one.
The shared dma-resv originates from a "root" GEM object serving as
container for the dma-resv to make it compatible with drm_exec.
In order to make sure the object proving the shared dma-resv can't be
freed up before the objects making use of it, let every such GEM object
take a reference on it.

drm/uapi: add explicit virtgpu context debug name
There are two problems with the current method of determining the
virtio-gpu debug name.
1) TASK_COMM_LEN is defined to be 16 bytes only, and this is a
Linux kernel idiom (see PR_SET_NAME + PR_GET_NAME). Though,
Android/FreeBSD get around this via setprogname(..)/getprogname(..)
in libc.
On Android, names longer than 16 bytes are common. For example,
one often encounters a program like "com.android.systemui".
The virtio-gpu spec allows the debug name to be up to 64 bytes, so
ideally userspace should be able to set debug names up to 64 bytes.
2) The current implementation determines the debug name using whatever
task initiated virtgpu. This is could be a "RenderThread" of a
larger program, when we actually want to propagate the debug name
of the program.
To fix these issues, add a new CONTEXT_INIT param that allows userspace
to set the debug name when creating a context.
It takes a null-terminated C-string as the param value. The length of the
string (excluding the terminator) **should** be <= 64 bytes. Otherwise,
the debug_name will be truncated to 64 bytes.
